the start of a great adventure ????

Introduction

My name is Sue Sheppard. I am a forty-something male to female transsexual living in the south east of England. I tend to travel a lot between Folkestone and Hove in East Sussex.

I was very moved by the fun idea of Kyle MacDonald, a young Canadian, who starting with a single red paperclip and tried to see if he could trade bigger and better and eventually traded up to a house. The journey was more important than the result and the resulting adventures led him to meet and know a bit about the interesting lives of many different people in Canada and northern USA.

I thought it might be fun to do the same thing in the UK, but focus on the Transgender and Fetish community, these semi-hidden alternative-culture of Modern Twenty-First Century Britain. Who knows how many interesting lifestyles and life stories they may have to tell?

My starting point I decided would be a single blonde wig cap and my aim is to trade up bigger and better to see as far I could go - maybe even as far as plastic surgery. I like to think I look good, but I know deep down I could benefit from such plastic surgery to enable me to blend smoothly into the wider, often ignorant, community.

It sits in my shop which is situated in the Dover Road, Folkestone (actually it sits on the table in the wig room) It has seen many interesting people - one person even claimed to be Pete Townsend from the legendary rock ensemble The Who. For hygiene reasons the actual blonde wig cap is new and in a packet.

Thursday. 6th March  Some Real Progress !!

 Today I tried to make contact with someone I knew at the Exchange & Mart this was to be more difficult than I thought. I asked for Pat I knew Pat, she has a nice voice. Pat would help !!  However I was informed by a gruff sounding woman that Pat was busy on the other line what exactly do you want, someone else is available to speak about placing ads. I was then put on to someone only it wasn't someone it was an engaged number oh poor I thought I'd e mail Pat instead. Thinking it'd come to nothing I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Stuart McBride a sales manager from the Exchange & Mart . He was great, very positive and thought my idea an absolute brilliant one the mag was prepared to give me full backing which includes a free ad on the website  - WOW what a result !!
